There are many people who like Skype and what it brings to the Internet. Skype allows everyone the opportunity of instant messaging, internet phone calls or video conferencing with a webcam and microphone -- it opens a whole world of FREE communications. Many critics say that Skype is not a complete VoIP, but is something very special that gives the user a tremendous interface for free with many 3rd party software tools to easily expand with.
Another reason why Skype is user-friendly & popular is its purpose. If you notice on the Internet today, you will find that online businesses add lively and enjoyable enticements for users on their site or contests to win. If you really look close enough you begin to see that many successful online social networking and online businesses are to be found. Of course, the people attracted to these sites and online communication are the younger minded and business oriented groups. The younger people are focusing in on instant messaging, and business minded are aimed at video conferencing. Many communication networks are of the old school, and are not very modern -- when you create your own mode of communication or network you need to ensure that it is very easy to use and easy to plan.
Another reason instant messaging is so popular to do, is because it reaches both PC and mobile platforms. "Skype" If you say the word "Skype" for the first time we see is not so difficult to pronounce, and it is negotiable. When I think the Internet or communicate via the Internet, I the first thing to mind is Skype.
For premium mobile services with Skype, you must be involved with a service provider for Skype. They charge about 2 cents per minute, and if you really like the Skype program and tired of paying for your cell phone or whatever the case, you can get unlimited Skype program, is about $ 3 per month for talks with United States and Canada. If you use this service in trade for international calls, and Skype is planning a major program.

Download Skype's Instant Messenger for free!

You can view it's features, and download it here:
http://www.skype.com/intl/en-us/features/allfeatures/instant-messaging/
I really like the way the messenger integrates into existing Skype Phone and Video applications.
Plus, Skype IM is now available on Mobile:

Skype also provide top-rate software for making free long-distance calls on the internet.
Let me tell you personally, it's a great money saver. You do have to 'stay in front of the camera' while you talk, unless you have a nice auto-adjusting webcam. Plus you need to delay a little if your talking to someone overseas. The pauses needed for talking aren't nearly as annoying as overseas long-distance bills. Calls made within a 1,000 mile distance hardly have much delay.
So what are you waiting for?
Jump in and try all the Skype apps, like Skype Messenger and Phone, while their still free...
Who knows when they'll go commercial? Remember when MTV (if you're old enough) and YouTube were ad-free?.
